The sending out of destination wedding
invitations is different than other wedding invitations. A destination wedding invitation must be sent
much sooner than a traditional wedding invitation and must request a response
from the guest.

should be sent three to five months in advance of the actual wedding. Obviously this invitation should be sent only

Four to six weeks before you leave for your wedding a more formal
invitation should be sent to everyone you would have invited to a traditional
wedding. This part of the destination
wedding invitation might be an invitation for a pre-destination wedding party
or for a post-destination wedding reception.
