Soft jerkbait lures are popular largemouth bass fishing gear selections - they
come in hundreds of different colors and dozens of shapes imitating
virtually everything that largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, or Kentucky
bass like to eat. Like many anglers, my sense is that these softer
baits feel more natural to a bass when they strike, leading the fish to
hang onto the jerkbait a bit longer than they would a hard plastic or
wooden lure. This momentary hesitation by largemouth bass gives you a
split second longer to react and set the hook.
